Perhaps years of Rotary experience. A new idea waiting to be tested. A question about your club’s future. A story that deserves to be heard. Or simply the willingness to meet people who see Rotary from a different perspective.
Roots & Wings — the Public Image & Rotaract Summit is being created for all of this.
From 22 to 25 October 2026, Rotarians and Rotaractors from across the region will gather in Samsun, Türkiye. The main Summit programme on 23–24 October will connect generations, experiences and ideas through dialogue, practical learning and shared work.
Not Simply an Audience
Roots & Wings is designed as a different event - you will spend two days listening passively BUT
You will be invited to contribute.
Through workshops, dialogue sessions and practical activities, participants will explore how Rotary can build public trust, create a stronger sense of belonging and communicate its impact with greater authenticity.
You will work alongside people of different ages, cultures, roles and experiences. You may discover that someone from another club or district has already faced the challenge you are trying to solve — or that your own experience can help another participant move forward.
Ideas That Can Travel Home with You
The conversations in Samsun will focus on real questions:
- How do we make people feel that they genuinely belong in Rotary?
- How can different generations lead and create together?
- How do we tell project stories ethically and effectively?
- How can stronger communication support better projects and partnerships?
- How do we turn inspiration into action after the Summit?
You will not be expected to arrive with all the answers. You will be expected to bring curiosity, honesty and a willingness to participate.
The purpose is to leave with practical ideas, useful approaches, new relationships and clear next steps that can continue in your club, district or community.
A Shared Promise on World Polio Day
On Saturday, 24 October, Roots & Wings will mark World Polio Day.
This moment will connect Rotary’s enduring commitment to polio eradication with a new generation of voices and advocates. It will remind us that Rotary’s greatest achievements are possible when knowledge, responsibility and determination are carried forward together.
Your Place in the Story
Roots give us identity, values and strength.
Wings allow us to imagine, grow and move towards what comes next.
Rotary needs both.
Bring what you have learned. Bring what you are still questioning. Bring the idea you want to develop and the contribution only you can make.
