Why Samsun?
As a major city and an important historic port on Türkiye’s central Black Sea coast, Samsun offers strong transport connections and a suitable setting for an international gathering. The city is connected by air, road, rail and sea, and combines accessibility with a rich historical and cultural character.
For this Summit, however, the most important element is the human one. District 2430 has welcomed the initiative and is supporting the local hosting of the event in Samsun, while local Rotary and Rotaract colleagues are contributing to the practical preparation together with the Public Image team.
The location also connects naturally with one of the important dates in the programme. 24 October is World Polio Day, and the working preparation includes a joint initiative in Samsun involving local Rotary and Rotaract clubs with the support of District 2430.
Samsun is the host city. The Summit belongs to the wider Rotary region. This combination — strong local hosting and a regional meeting of people, ideas and generations — makes Samsun a fitting place for the Summit.
