Programme Themes
The Summit programme has been shaped around a small number of connected themes. Together, they explore how Rotary builds public trust, strengthens belonging, communicates its impact and turns conversation into action.
The themes were identified through the work of the Programme Community and form the common foundation for the Summit’s dialogues, workshops and practical sessions.
Public Image as Public Trust
Public Image is more than visibility, branding or communication. It is about whether people understand Rotary, whether they see meaning in what we do, and whether they trust us.
Trust grows when our words and actions are consistent, when projects demonstrate real change, when stories are truthful and respectful, and when the experience inside Rotary reflects the values we communicate outside it.
This theme explores the connection between credibility, behaviour, member experience and public reputation.
One Rotary, Many Generations
Different generations can experience leadership, belonging, communication, service, time, authority and change in very different ways.
The purpose is not to divide people into “young” and “older” groups, or to reinforce generational stereotypes. It is to understand different expectations and create a Rotary environment in which experience and new perspectives can work together.
The conversation will explore what generations can learn from one another and how shared responsibility can strengthen Rotary’s future.
Create Lasting Impact as Behaviour
Lasting impact is more than the result of a successful project. It is reflected in the way we welcome people, listen, lead, build partnerships, communicate, use resources and follow through on our commitments.
This theme asks how impact can become part of everyday Rotary behaviour and organisational culture — moving from individual activities to habits, relationships and measurable change.
Rotary Voice and Public Speaking
Public Image is also shaped every time someone speaks about Rotary. Clear, confident and human communication can help others understand who we are, why our work matters and how they can become part of it.
Participants will work on practical ways to speak about Rotary and its impact in different settings — from a 60-second message to a project story or a short impact presentation.
Inclusive Club Experience
Attraction is only the beginning. People stay when they feel that they belong.
This theme explores what makes members feel welcomed, heard, valued and able to contribute — and what behaviours can make people feel invisible, excluded or disconnected.
The focus is practical: how clubs and districts can create stronger experiences across generations while remaining open, relevant and connected to their identity.
Project Storytelling and People of Action
Rotary projects deserve stories that show what actually changed. The focus is not on reporting activities, but on communicating human impact in a way that is positive, ethical and credible.
The Summit will use a simple framework: Human Change + Proof + Invitation.
Stories should protect dignity, respect truth and context, and avoid using suffering simply to attract attention. Strong storytelling combines a real human change, credible evidence and a clear invitation for others to engage, support or act.
Connecting the Themes
These themes are deliberately interconnected. Public trust depends on real impact and credible communication. Credible communication depends on the stories we tell and the way we speak. Belonging influences whether people stay, lead and become ambassadors for Rotary. Cooperation across generations strengthens continuity while creating space for new leadership and new ideas.
The Summit therefore moves from trust and understanding, through practical skills and shared experience, towards action and measurable follow-up.
